Fed: Greens want alcopops tax concessions maintained

The Greens will support Labor's decision to resurrect its alcopops tax hike .. as long
the government maintins previously negotiated conditions.

The federal government announced plans today to introduce fresh legislation in an attempt
to get its tax hike on pre-mixed drinks passed through parliament.

The Senate rejected the excise increase on alcopops in March .. after Family First's
STEVE FIELDING sided with the coalition and voted against the bill.

Greens senator RACHAEL SIEWERT says the party will look at the new legislation .. as
long as the government maintains the integrity of the previously negotiated package.

It includes an additional 50 million dollars funding for alternative sponsorship to
unlock the link between alcohol and sports sponsorship .. social marketing campaigns ..

and mandatory warnings on alcoholic products.
