Fed: Ruddock offers more bushfire aid

Attorney General PHILIP RUDDOCK has approved an extension of Commonwealth assistance
for firefighters battling blazes across Victoria.

Mr RUDDOCK says more assistance could be provided if needed.

The approval is for an army tanker and crew to supply diesel for Country Fire Authority
water tankers working in the alpine regions.

Mr RUDDOCK says the Army can supply a fuel tanker that can traverse the difficult terrain
in the mountain country .. to keep the water tankers going.
