The Easter yearling sale at Sydney is expected to attract strong interest. William Inglis & Son will offer 497 thoroughbred yearlings at the three-day sale, which begins on 13 April 2004. A strong stock market usually leads to strong bidding on race horses as well. The international success of Australian horses will also help the sale. Many Hong Kong buyers are expected to return to the sale, after being kept away by severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) fears in 2003. Australian horses represent good value despite the strong Australian dollar. Japanese interest has been increased by access to racing results on the Internet.
