VIC:Jump in regional road fatalities

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has released figures that show a 25 per cent
increase in deaths on Victoria's regional and rural roads so far in 2010.

Here is a comparison of the road toll so far for 2010 compared to 2009 for some parts
of regional Victoria.



Warrnambool: Seven deaths so far in 2010, three in 2009.

Central Goldfields: Five in 2010, 0 in 2009.

Mildura: Six in 2010, two in 2009.

Geelong: 14 in 2010, eight in 2009.

Surf Coast: Five in 2010, two in 2009.

Swan Hill: Seven in 2010, three in 2009.

Bendigo: 13 in 2010, eight in 2009.

Baw Baw: 10 in 2010, six in 2009.

Moorabool: Eight in 2010, five in 2009.



Fatality rates in Ballarat, Campaspe, Northern Grampians and Shepparton have declined.
