Love fest Manzanero basks in glory at Viva!

It's impossible to convey what Mexican singer-songwriter ArmandoManzanero means to the Latin music world.

Along with composers Agustin Lara and Jose Alfredo Jimenez,Manzanero has written virtually the entire Latin bolero songbook.Though his legacy stretches back to the early '50s, he remains avital force through his work with proteges such as Luis Miguel.

In his first appearance here in more than a decade, Manzaneroheadlined Saturday at the 11th annual Viva! Chicago Latin MusicFestival in Grant Park. When he opened with "Adoro," it wasespecially appropriate. You could feel the love radiating from bothsides of the stage.
