QLD: Boy dies after stormwater drain rescue = 2

Meanwhile, three boys were rescued from Petrie Creek at Nambour about noon, police said.
They were not injured.

The drowning of the eight-year-old boy is the second in Queensland floodwaters since the
weekend.

On Saturday night a 13-year-old girl drowned in a flooded drain in Brisbane after jumping
in to save her pet dog, which then escaped unharmed.

Harriet Hunter, of Closeburn, was walking near Cedar Creek in the outer northern suburb of
Samford when the dog slipped into the water.
